The Questions People Just Keep Asking "Da Bull".

"Da Bull" what is your theme song?

Les Toreadors... I eat Matadors for breakfast. Listen here.

"Da Bull" what is FIRST?

FIRST is an acronym meaning "For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology". It is for high school age students interested in science and technology. And to quote FIRST's founder Dean Kamen "To create a world where science and technology are celebrated... where young people dream of becoming science and technology heroes"

How might I join your team "Da Bull"?

First, to be able to join team 1891 the "Bullbots" (I wish that they would be "Da Bullbots") you must live close to Meridian Idaho and preferably in Meridian Joint School District No.2. You must be a high school age student. Unless you want to be an adult mentor.

What if i'm not in Meridian?

"Da Bull" will tell you the easy way. Go to this link and it will have everything you need to know http://usfirst.org/whatsgoingon.aspx

What if I'm not in high school?

How not in high school are you? If you are too young, but are still interested in joining a FIRST team, you can join a FIRST Lego League team for students 9-14 years old or JrFLL for even younger students! If you are old enough to be in high school, but are educated outside the traditional compulsory model aka. Home schooled, you can still join a FIRST team just like any other high schooler. You can find a either a FIRST Lego League or FIRST Robotics team near you at http://usfirst.org/whatsgoingon.aspx

What if I'm an "old fogey"?

Come and be a mentor and teach those young whippersnappers what it's like in the "real world". Mentors assist in every aspect of FIRST. We have mentors working side by side with the students to tackle technical and business related problems.

Those robots are pretty cool! How long did it take to build?

Six weeks of intense work! Our team spends about twenty hours a week for those six weeks. We seem to work longer hours as the deadline to ship looms. We are very grateful for all of the parents who bring us delicious food to keep us energized and happy. As "Da Bull" knows a hungry 'bullbot' is a grumpy 'bullbot'!

One of those robots would look good in my living room, how much are they?

Sorry, our robots are not for sale... but, to start a FIRST Robotics team you need great funding. The Bullbots have several fantastic sponsors and we run a Lego Robotics Summer Day camp. Plus, "Da Bull" gladly accepts donations (I'll even share with the team).
