This is my 2nd year -------------------------------------------- Tell us a little about your back ground (education, current job, ect...) I have a BSEET that I received in 1988. I have worked in both the disk drive and the semiconductor memory industries. I am currently working for Micron Technology as a device characterization engineer. I have been doing that for about eight years now. -------------------------------------------- Why did you get involved as a FIRST mentor at MVHS? My main motivator is to help promote engineering as a profession. It is disheartening to see the USA's decline in engineering enrollment in the Universities and in the news that our economy is being stiffled due to the lack of skilled engineers.   Also, I think robots are really cool! -------------------------------------------- Tell us about some of your hobbies. My main hobby that I enjoy the most is SCUBA diving. It helps me to relax and explore. I also enjoy amateur radio, computer games, hiking, and riding my motorcycle. -------------------------------------------- Share a story about your involvement as a mentor that you would like to share with others. After all the hard work of building the robot to watch it and the team compete is fun. To be there to experience the excitement and pressure of competition. Its fun to see the team take off on its own to solve the problems presented to them by the heat of competition. --------------------------------------------
